Yes, our hearts are broken, but we are of the luckiest in the world.
We got to know a real life angel- the very sweetest little girl.
We were blessed to have her though it wasn't long enough.
It breaks our hearts to think ahead of a road that will be rough.
We are sorry that this happened, and we'll never understand "why?"
Nobody can explain it, they can never justify.
And although we all feel empty, our hearts are heavy and weak.
We feel more sorry for the people that she never got to meet. -
"Teen was the smallest, youngest adult that we have ever known. So mature and quick-witted. She could sit and have a converstaion with the adults and then move on and fit right in with the kids. The best part is that she knew more of what was going on, and probably had a more "grown-up" outlook than the rest of us.
Teen was very forward with her opinions too. If she thought it...you more than likely heard about it. It was as if Teen was the best pieces of her sisters. She definitely had Jess's guts when it came to expressing her opinion. Yet, she had Seren's drive and sense of direction. Of course, Wee Bob probably had quite a bit of an influence on the attitude.
Teen was also quite into sports. She was very active and was involved in whatever activities were going on at that particular time. She was very busy, always doing something. She was usually the leader of the kids that were lucky enough to be around her. Nobody that was ever loved by Teenie didn't know it. She expressed her feelings in the sweetest ways. She would always say, "I love you," followed by the longest hug when it was time to leave. She always said, "I love you." before she hung up the phone. She could always make you smile.
That infamous giggle will be forever in our hearts and minds. We can hear the echo whenever we close our eyes. It could lift the spirits of anyone, at any time. To lift her own, she collected SMILEY FACES and even decorated her room with them. It was so appropriate because she was our little symbol of happiness. She was the family's pride and joy. A very, very LUCKY family! We are so lucky to have had the time that we shared with her. Everyone has thier own special memories. We were blessed, "Touched by an angel." A beautiful, blue-eyed angel."
We lost Teenie because we were in the dark about her diabetes. She was misdiagnosed which led to her death. She went to bed one evening with a stomache ache and slipped into a coma. Had she been properly tested and treated, we would still have her with us.
Since we lost Teen, she now has four nephews, and four nieces. She would be 22 years old this year. I can only imagine how wonderful of a person she would be. I know people tend to glorify others in thier absense, but that is not the case here. Teen truly was a beautiful and near perfect person and I am sure would have stayed on that path.
Please have your children tested! Whether your family has a history of diabetes or not. You don't want your baby to be the first one in that line of history, as Teen was.

I am excited to be teaming up with Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (JDRF). I will be donating 10% of my winnings to them in Teen's name. PLEASE go to the website and donate as well! www.JDRF.org
